yeah, she's right about what's goin on in FB, it seems like a mini diary of every persons life posted, which inenevitably seems to me, they are anything but pretensions..i have an FB accnt too but i try to manage what i want my friends sees and knows about me..and another thing, some has just gotten too many friends that i really am so curious about, gosh just imagine 200,300 or more friends u got and i wonder if they really know each other..
For me it is an easy way to get in touch with friends, relatives and acquaintances [not necessarily friends!]; as well as keep tabs on what everyone is doing. Social networking... and not taking things seriously...
Obviously, one need to keep other things as private or as public as one requires.
Some could be "pretentious" - but that also happens in a "face to face" situations, isn't it?
I don't think one can physically keep tab of hundreds of acquaintances, let alone have 100's of friends at one single time... but with this technology [and other social networking sites]; this gives us the ability to to do so... and that can give us the ability to build on lasting friendships!
